BACKGROUND AND MISSION
Since many years the members of world wide DAAAM international community expressed
the need for one flexible publishing platform for the presentation of own actual
(international) research projects, recent results, and technical solutions.
To fulfil this need in the frame of the DAAAM International publishing activities
we started in 2002 new periodical edition known as DAAAM International Scientific Book.
The main concept of this edition is: One contribution is one chapter in the
Scientific Book. The size of the contribution can be extended in such way that
the authors have enough space to present and explain background, project, ideas,
results and future work. Manuscripts are subject of the following review procedures:
(a) It is reviewed by editor for general suitability for this publication.
(b) If it is judged suitable two reviewers are selected and a double blind review
process takes place.
(c) Based on the recommendations of the reviewers, the editor then decide whether
the particular manuscript should be accepted as it is, revised or rejected.
This is the open series for the publishing of the most resent research results and international projects from all technical fields and scientific disciplines which are in the field of interest of DAAAM International.
Actuality, competence, team work, interdisciplinary and international cooperation are the main characteristics of this initiative.
During the 2002 we published the Vol 1 of this edition. The promotion of first book was organised in Vienna in the frame of DAAAM International Symposium "Intelligent Manufacturing & Automation: Learning from Nature", Vienna 2002-10-23/26. The reaction on the Book at international scientific scene was very positive; such we decided to continue and extend this publishing project. Menwile we published Vol 2 in 2003, Vol 3 in 2004, and Vol 4 in 2005. At moment we are finishing Vol 5 for the printing and sending to authors, and sending Call for Manuscripts for Vol 6 which will be published during 2007 and promote at 18th DAAAM International Symposium 2007-10-25 at University of Zadar, Zadar, Croatia.. To all readers, authors and coauthors of this periodical edition we wish joy during the reading and success during the studding of the books.
